Mobile will fuel an expansion in the network security appliances market, according to Sophos company Cyberoam, which has appointed Fortesys Integration as its new partner in Malaysia to prepare for the increased demand.

Cyberoam Malaysia country manager Pauline Jacintha said Malaysia's the adoption of smart devices such as smartphones and tablets has increased rapidly.

The newly industrialised economy of Malaysia has a huge potential for network security appliances, said Jacintha. "Organisations in Malaysia have adopted new age technologies such as cloud computing, mobility and big data in a big way."

"Ecommerce is also projected to experience a boom," she said. "In this era of growth, emerging businesses will feel the need to expand their network capabilities and they will have to invest more in network security and management solutions. Fortesys Integration is a key player in the network security appliances market in the region and has been helping businesses in Malaysia with their network related demands. With this collaboration, we hope to empower Malaysian enterprises and help them derive true value for their network security investments."

The partnership will drive regional expansion, said the partners, as Fortesys Integration offered a wide range of security, Internet resiliency, wireless, dynamic caching, application delivery and application performance monitoring solutions.

It also provides installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, professional training and related services, said Fortesys Integration sales director LH Loh.

"Malaysia is the rising star of Southeast Asia and its regions like Greater Kuala Lumpur are witnessing tremendous growth and also receiving huge investments," said Loh.

"There is a huge demand for network infrastructure establishment, network security and management at present and this is likely to remain strong even in the medium and long term," he said.  "[This partnership will help] to ensure that our customers get the best in the industry. Moreover, Cyberoam's next-generation and proven enterprise security offerings are well suited to meet the demands of our smaller as well as bigger clients. Their post-sales support is a value addition and will help us create differentiation in the highly competitive Malaysian market."
